It was a very clean, comfortable hotel with friendly staff. We would be happy to stay there again and can recommend it. There was a very useful heater in the room so the heating can be controlled to personal preference.
On entering the hotel we were immediately attended to by a friendly member of staff who checked us in and took us to our rooms. The rooms were spotlessly clean with tea and coffee making facilities and also a hair dryer was provided. Breakfast was very substantial with plenty of choice for every taste and again the service was good.
The fan in the toilet/showereroom came on automatically when the light was switched on which was quite noisy as it could be heard from neighbouring rooms too during the night. Also there was only enough hot water for one shower and on phoning reception about the problem my husband was told to wait ten minutes for it to heat up again but it obviously took longer as after ten minutes it was still cold therefore he had to take a cold shower.
The size of the family room
TV mounted too high, should be lower or larger to avoid crick in neck
The hotel was centrally located with free parking nearby. The staff were welcoming and the location is very convenient for travellers breaking a journey from England to the Highlands and Islands.
A great hotel - lots of atmosphere and really homely. The staff were great and the family room we had was great - lots of space. Nice food too so all in all a great stay.
Clean & tidy, good town centre location, stay in the village pub with all the convenience of that & no trouble with times for coming & going or meals, they are on offer as an optional extra ion both Bar & restaurant.
The en-suit facilities are on the small side & the washbasin is in the bedroom!
Shower was excellent with good water pressure. Bed was comfy and room serviced unobtrusively. Breakfast was hearty, but a bit limited in choice.
Noisy bar below rooms and people from the bar talking outside our window until the small hours. Hotelier did accept that this was a problem however, and made an 'adjustment' to our bill because of it.
Relaxing place to saty.
It would be good if there were curtains in the rooms that blocked out the daylight which woke us early in the morning.
Clean and friendly, comfortable room, excellent food.
Friendly ,accomodating staff.Good food, clean envioronment and value for money
Friendly staff, very nice breakfast and convenient location
The bed was very worn and lumpy
Very pleasant stay ,staff helpful ,food excellent ,will use again.
Shower not up to much.
It was a bit pricy for the accommodation we received. Breakfast was just o.k. When we arrived, approx. 2.15 p.m, we asked about something to eat to be told they had stopped serving at 2.00 p.m. The kitchen was obviously still open as people where still eating. It would have been nice if they could have been a little bit more flexible!
Handy for nice walks and scenery. Plenty of choice of other local eating places and pubs.
the idea that the hotel is in the guiness book of records, narrowest detached hotel!!
noisy pipes but fortunately not at bed time
